Distillery Information

The Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s first malt whisky distillery, was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the visionary behind Suntory. Nestled at the foothills of the Osaka mountains, it benefits from pure water sources and a unique climate that influences its whisky’s character. Yamazaki is renowned for its delicate, aromatic and complex single malts, with the Yamazaki 12 Year Old often highlighted for its fruity notes of peach and banana, balanced with a hint of spice. Older expressions and limited editions are highly sought after and can be hard to find.
