Williamson 2013 Berry Bros & Rudd Moscatel Finish #208 58.9% ABV

A delicious release here from Berry Bros. & Rudds Winter 2022 collection. The quarterly drop brings together inventive spirits bottlings from Scotch whisky and beyond and this smoky expression is a delight. Finished in a sweet Moscatel cask, this sees a rambunctious Islay whisky softened by the wines sweetness, and its beautiful.

Tasting note:

Nose: It opens with ashy smoke before the peat builds into a roaring file. Theres iodine and gentle spices, along with strawberry, raspberry and shortbread.

Palate: Rich and round, theres gingerbread and stone fruits in with jammy berries and then huge smoke notes, along with seaweed and an earthiness.

Finish: Long with that powerful smoke lingering on.
