“In 1954, together with his wife, his sister-in-law and his three children, Joseph established the CLAIR-DA estate. In the 1950s and 1960s, his son Bernard Clair and daughter-in-law Genevive Bartet bought vines in Gevrey-Chambertin (including Clos-Saint-Jacques and Clos du Fonteny), Vosne-Romane, Savigny-les-Beaune (La Dominode) and Marsannay. Following Joseph Clairs death in 1971, Bernard Clair took over the management of the Clair-Da estate.”
