A marvellously citrus-forward London dry gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company, featuring the delicious yuzu fruit! Cultivated widely in Japan and Korea, the yuzu looks a bit like a grapefruit (though they’re a bit more bumpy) and tastes a bit like a cross between the aforementioned grapefruit and a lemon, with a floral touch of orange blossom too. This stuff is excellent in a G&T, and more than suitable for a Negroni as well.

Tasting notes:

Nose:The nose begins with composed and measured citrus, sweet Amalfi lemon and tart grapefruit, which blends with vanilla and clean juniper tones. Subtle floral notes add perfume, while zesty blood orange fills the backdrop.

Taste:Citrus is also prominent on the palate and becomes sharper. Heady blossom notes of fizzy orange, lemon sorbet and juicy grapefruit blend together in an enjoyably creamy texture. Subtle prickles of spicy juniper and aromatic coriander provide depth.

Finish:Earthy pine with a spicy bite of stem ginger temper the lingering citrus.
